Judge Doug Arnold, County Court at Law Three

A sixth-generation Texan, Judge Arnold has lived and served in Williamson County since 1998.  Prior to serving as Judge of County Court at Law No. 3, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in Williamson County from April 1998 through November 2010.  Prior to that, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in Harris County, Texas from 1994 to 1998.  Prior to his career as a prosecutor, he worked at the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals as a briefing attorney to Judge Charles Campbell.
Judge Arnold lives in Georgetown with his wife, Jamie, a psychology professor, and his two sons, Drew and Dan. Judge Arnold and his family are members of First Presbyterian Church in Georgetown. In his spare time, Judge Arnold enjoys sports, reading and following his children’s activities.

Courtroom Requirements

Please dress appropriately. Shorts, tank tops, clothing with offensive language or logos, and inappropriate/provocative clothing are not permitted in the courtroom. ALSO, please make arrangements for child care. The minimum age requirements are as follows: for family dockets, no one under 17 years old will be allowed in the courtroom; and for criminal dockets, no one under age 14 will be permitted inside the courtroom.


Uncontested Docket

There will be no uncontested docket from Monday, March 13- Thursday March 16.  Uncontested dockets will resume on Friday, March 17th at 8:30 AM


Beginning April 1, 2015, all Pro Se Uncontested family cases in County Court at Law No. 3 will be held each Tuesday and Thursday morning at 8:45 a.m. You must sign in by 8:30 in the courtroom in order to be heard at the 8:45 docket. Please contact the Court in advance by phone at 512-943-1160 to confirm Judge Arnold’s availability on the date you are to appear.

Attorneys with uncontested matters will be heard Monday – Friday at 8:45 and will need to be signed in by 8:30 the same morning in order to be heard at the 8:45 docket.

Uncontested matters to be presented to the Judge include: Divorce Decree agreed to by both parties; Default Divorce with Attorney; Employer’s Order to Withhold Child Support; and Name Change.

Persons appearing for the uncontested docket shall sign up in the Courtroom on the Uncontested Docket Sheet located on the ledge in front of the Judge’s bench.

Any person appearing Pro Se should be prepared to follow all appropriate procedures and be available to testify without assistance from the Court. Any person not meeting these criteria will not be heard.
