Jury Duty Scam

The local Courts, District Clerk or Law Enforcement will never call or email you asking for any personal information, nor will they demand payment over the phone for failure to appear for jury duty.

There are currently phone calls being made by scammers regarding jury duty in Williamson County and surrounding areas that appear to be from law enforcement. The caller is demanding that the victim withdraw money and load on a card sometimes referred to as a “Green Dot Card” or a warrant will be issued for not appearing for jury duty. The victim is then to call back once the money is loaded to give information from the card to the scammer. Please report any phone calls of this nature to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department at 512-943-1300.
