Resurfacing Program

Williamson County Resurfacing Program

Williamson County is responsible for maintaining approximately 1,700 miles of county roads spread over an area of 1,124 square miles. Many of these roads are located in subdivisions and have been patched or repaired as needed, but not resealed in several years. Cracks in the roadway allow water to deteriorate the road materials that hold it together and affect its load bearing capacity. In order to ensure that our county roads are sealed and protected from deterioration due to water, Williamson County has begun a major investment in preventative maintenance of our local roads.  To view a slide presentation about the neighborhood resurfacing program, click here.

Upcoming Road Meetings:
Williamson County will be conducting a series of public meetings to inform residents of upcoming road resurfacing projects on residential streets.  We will be using a seal coat application on the straight sections of road, and a fog seal application for the cul-de-sacs.  At the meetings, we will be explaining what a seal and fog seal are, the materials that we are using and how residents can assist us in a good product.  We look forward to visiting with you.

If you have questions about this preventative maintenance program, please contact Williamson County Road and Bridge Division at 512-943-3393.

2012 Neighborhood Street Restoration Program

We will begin fog seal operations on cul-de-sacs again this Spring 2013, when the weather is most conducive to applying the material.  We will inform residents of upcoming work in their area by hanging another notice on your door as well as keep the webpage and hotline updated.  We will also be staying in contact with the homeowner's associations and neighborhood groups.  If you have additional questions, please feel free to call our office at 512-943-3330.  We thank you for your continued patience and support

2011 Neighborhood Street Restoration Program

Included in this program are: the neighborhoods in the Brushy Creek and Fern Bluff MUDS, plus the Tonkawa Springs and Great Oaks neighborhoods

Williamson County is dedicated to maintaining the County's roads in a safe and cost effective manner.  The County hired an Independent Engineering firm to inspect the road resurfacing work and report on the quality of the resurfacing and possible suggestions.  To view a copy of the Report, please click on the link: Independent Engineer's Report by Brown and Gay Engineer's, Inc.  As part of the Independent Engineer's Report, a suggestion was made to consider applying a Tire Rubber Modified Surface Sealant (TRMSS) "fog seal". Portions of the following streets received the TRMSS fog seal application:
  • Oakbrook: Slate Creek Trail, Trowbridge Cove, Cottage Grove Pass, Cessna Lane
  • Cat Hollow: Barlow Drive
  • The Meadows of Brushy Creek: Neenah Avenue

UPDATE - Friday, June 1, 2012
The County is currently establishing a list of warranty items for the contractor to resolve, above and beyond the items that have been listed on the punch list. The warranty items include areas where the seal coat needs to be repaired that were not immediately obvious at the time the seal coat was applied. Each item will be addressed as part of the 2 year contract warranty.
